It may only be the fuel rails that are leaking, very common after sitting. They usually stop after the seals swell up again so it may just be temporary. If it isn't that and if you have any mechanical skills I'd recommend you pull the carbs yourself and send them to Dave Wilder. I believe his price to do an awesome rebuild job is around $800? Don't quote me! You can get a modified seat or have yours reworked plus lowered rear shocks would help the height. Prices are ranging from $3500-5500 these days depending on lots of variables.

Seth Laam used to make Russell DayLong seats but is on his own now. You’d need a seat to send him but he’ll customize it to your specs and they’re beautiful. A Corbin is another option but some feel they’re too firm.

Try cleaning the starter switch. There’s a file in the documents section that shows how.

Yep, that big flat six means your legs are fairly wide apart. It's been said it's like straddling a 55 gallon drum lol. Various highway pegs/boards will give you lots of options and after a while you don't really notice it. Forward controls used to be made by Big Bike Things (almost $500) but I think they're discontinued. They do occasionally show up on eBay or the FB Valkyrie groups for sale. Finding accessories for a 20+ yr. old bike is a challenge.

Interstates were made from 1999 to 2001 and all those years were virtually identical. I'm biased but Valkyries are the best! Any bike will have issues you need to be aware of but these things are pretty bulletproof with proper maintenance. One owner has over 700,000 miles on his so you can't argue with that!

If it isn’t using oil then the rings can’t be very bad. Something else is going on I’d say.

Is it actually using oil? Maybe just valve stem seals?

I ended up getting the insoles. After 3 hours in the low 20's the cold seeped through. Everything else worked great! Only other issue I had was my balaclava got really wet from breathing. I found this thing called a Fog Thief for $20 that's basically a snorkel with 2 tubes that exhaust below the helmet. It should do the trick but we'll see...

I ended up getting the Sedici Evo Hotwired jacket, pants and glove liners. Hope to actually use it if the snow, ice and piles of salt dust clear out. I like the way it all connects together and is easy to control. May add the boot insoles too but my Alpinestars Roam 2's are pretty warm with wool socks.
